What is the Strike Zone

In its simplest of terms, the strike zone is an invisible box that extends from the bottom of the batter's knees to the top of their shoulders. The exact location of the strike zone varies slightly from pitcher to pitcher and umpire to umpire, but the corners are always set at 17 inches from each batter's plate. All pitches thrown inside that location are considered "strikes".
